By car

From Vienna, Graz, Klagenfurt, Salzburg, Linz and Innsbruck, routes normally continue via Villach or northern Italy. From Munich and Nuremberg the Salzburg–Villach corridor is common; Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Cologne require more time and often justify an overnight stop.
