South of the Istrian coast, Porer lighthouse becomes a clear visual reference. It places the transition from coast to island area, while course, clearance and current conditions remain part of continuous navigation.
A dolphin, islands and the buoy off Unije
A dolphin briefly interrupts the long stretch of water. Later the first islands appear, and the open horizon gradually becomes the approach to Unije.
The stage ends only after HERA has picked up and checked her buoy for the night. The berth costs 60 euros for the 50-foot yacht.
Beyond Pula, the rhythm changes
With Pula astern, the open crossing gives way to islands, lighthouses and new approaches. Porer is a strong visual reference but does not replace continuous position checks. Landmarks, chart and course are connected while the crew prepares for the later buoy. Distances may become shorter in the island area, yet navigation and arrival decisions demand attention more frequently.
